On The Come UP

Yesterday I worked background on a commercial that through the grace of God, turned out to be (3) different spots!  So, that means three times what I thought I was gonna make!  Hallelujah!

Well, while at the commercial shoot, I met a lady who wound up hooking me up with a gig for next week that'll take me outta L.A. for a day.  Heck, I need a break; even if it's a mere 24 hours or so.  I fully intend to have a BLAST!

I told Tyshawn that by this time next year, I'll be living in a FANTASTIC, NEW PLACE by MY OWN VOLITION!  And you know what?  I believe it!  I truly believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

America's Next Top Model Cycle 21 has begun and we're now two episodes in!  Luckily, model/actor DENZELWELLS is still in the game!!  And honestly, he's been dang funny on the show!  His charisma and sense of humor illustrate what a freakin' STAR he's shapin' up to be!

On September 9th, Denzel makes his television acting debut as "Travis," on Tyler Perry's new show, IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG!  So, it's conceivable he'll still be seen on ANTM at the same time he's on Tyler's new show.  I imagine this must be some heady stuff for him!  I know if I were he, it would be for me!

God bless him!  And I wish him MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS!!!!!!!!

Ahh, my boy, ALVESTER MARTIN, the "oh, so beautiful one," has released a new single, SO HIGH.  And, boy, oh boy, is it HOT!!!!!!

Alvester has been chasing this music industry thing for a minute. I'm THRILLED that he FINALLY has somethin' HOTTER than HADES to present to the public!

Honestly, the song sounds sooooo dang good to me. I mean, I love its smooth groove and his smoother than silk vocals.

The song just makes you wanna cuddle up with somebody on a rainy night and...well...do some thangs!

I hope and pray this song takes off for him.  He DESERVES the recognition!!!

So Long...

ROBIN WILLIAMS (1951-2014)

Today, actor/comedian ROBIN WILLIAMS is suspected to have taken his life.  Depression is the alleged cause because his wife said he's been battling depression of late.  Ironic, since his entire professional life was based around making others laugh.

I've oftentimes said that we can't know anyone fully in this life, except ourselves.  So, to many, he may have been a happy-go-lucky guy who was supremely talented.  And, for much of his life, maybe he was.

But today.

And yesterday.

His wife says he was depressed.

And we all know.  Or should know...that...

Severe depression kills.

Whatever he was going through, I hope and pray his children, his wife, his siblings, parents, friends, whomever...loved him.

And I hope even more that he KNEW he was loved.

I don't believe I'm everything I want to be.  Nor everything I was born to be.

But I know I'm LOVED.

That much...

I know for sure.

So long, Robin.

I wish your spirit well.

Side Note:  Just yesterday I began watching his film, The BIRDCAGE, again.  Maybe my spirit knew something that I simply didn't at the time.  Well, I'll finish watching the film tonight...God willing.

50 Is The New 50

A week ago, actress, VIVICA FOX, celebrated her 50th birthday!  Yep, she and I are the same age.  Well, I'm seven months older, but heck, 50 is 50!

Unlike the quiet dinner I had at WOOD RANCH BBQ & GRILL to celebrate my milestone, she hosted a lavish affair at PHILIPPE CHOW in Beverly Hills.  And she looked STUNNING!

Strollin' Down Memory Lane

Tonight I'm feelin' rather nostalgic.

I've got Anita Baker on, singin' one of my fave tunes of hers.  I remember lying in my bed late at night, in the dark, listening to her sing this song.

I used to always tell myself that I'd know for sure I was in love with someone when I felt the following lyrics:

"It's amazing loving you.
I'm doing things I never thought I'd do."

In my humble opinion, when you feel that sentiment, that's PRECISELY when you KNOW you're in love.  I've felt it a couple times.

But both times, it was unrequited.  Which is a euphemism for EXTREMELY PAINFUL.

But I'm STILL HERE.  So, it can happen again.

I'm HOPEFUL.
