This is 2010. Life as I knew it as a child has changed dramatically. One thing that hasn't changed, though, is the never-changing fact that people---ALL PEOPLE---want to feel APPRECIATED. And RECOGNIZED. All people want to be SEEN! With the invention of the internet and tons and tons of celebrity-obsessed websites/publications/tv shows, etc., many people want to be recognized/seen by the masses. It doesn't seem to be enough any longer to simply be known by those who love you. What has me perplexed, though is this: I'm not surprised that people will sell their souls to the devil for fame and fortune. What surprises me is for how LITTLE they'll sell themselves!
