If my father was still alive, today would mark his 102nd year on this planet.
WOW!!!
As a teenager, I wasn't sure what to think about my father.
My immaturity had me thinking a dad should go to work wearing a suit. But he didn't.
It had me thinking a job should have an impressive title.
But his didn't.
Thankfully I came to my senses long before he transitioned to Glory.
And thankfully I possessed the maturity and desire to TELL him that I loved him.
I'd leave him with a kiss on his forehead.
I wish I had asked him more questions about the life he had before he became a father.
What were his dreams?
What did he think of the life he was living?
I wish I had asked my mother the same questions.
But I didn't.
Anyway, Daddy and Mama are now reunited. I hope they're laughing and watching their favorite television shows. Heck, at this point, they might even have met Edith and Archie Bunker, George and Louise Jefferson, the cast of Hee Haw and all the hosts of 60 Minutes circa 1975-1985!!!
Charles Andrew Montgomery Sr was one of the kindest and most family-oriented men I've ever known. He was hard-working and the poster boy for INTEGRITY.
Yes!!! That's my dad.
