"The Entrepreneurs" & Me
I affectionately refer to them as "the entrepreneurs."
That moniker suits them perfectly because one of them founded a business advertisting company. And the other founded a health and wellness company. It's probably not too difficult to figure out which is which.
I've known these fellas since 2003 when they were roommates. At that time, one was working as a bartender/barback/actor and the other was working for a polarizing popular conservative radio personality.
I eventually became the talent manager for the actor. And I'm proud to say we achieved some moderate success. However, when he tired of waiting to be chosen for a gig, he decided to forge his own path and become the one DOING the choosing. The other remained in the world of radio but realized that selling advertising was far more lucrative than assisting on-air talent.
When I met these gentlemen I was 39, and they were 27 and 25. And all of us were single! Now, here we are 62 (still single), 50 (with wife and two kids) and 48 (with a woman who OUGHTA be his wife). Oh, has time flown by!!!
Well, the night we all convened at North Italia in Santa Monica, they brought their women with them; but for whatever reason, the women wanted a photo of just us fellas. So, here it is.
I truly and wholly enjoyed linking up with them.
I look forward to many more years of laughter, scrumptious food, delicious cocktails and reciprocal friendship.

THAT'S MY DAD
If my father was still alive, today would mark his 102nd year on this planet.
WOW!!!
As a teenager, I wasn't sure what to think about my father.
My immaturity had me thinking a dad should go to work wearing a suit. But he didn't.
It had me thinking a job should have an impressive title.
But his didn't.
Thankfully I came to my senses long before he transitioned to Glory.
And thankfully I possessed the maturity and desire to TELL him that I loved him.
I'd leave him with a kiss on his forehead.
I wish I had asked him more questions about the life he had before he became a father.
What were his dreams?
What did he think of the life he was living?
I wish I had asked my mother the same questions.
But I didn't.
Anyway, Daddy and Mama are now reunited. I hope they're laughing and watching their favorite television shows. Heck, at this point, they might even have met Edith and Archie Bunker, George and Louise Jefferson, the cast of Hee Haw and all the hosts of 60 Minutes circa 1975-1985!!!
Charles Andrew Montgomery Sr was one of the kindest and most family-oriented men I've ever known. He was hard-working and the poster boy for INTEGRITY.
Yes!!! That's my dad.
HAPPY 102nd BIRTHDAY, DADDY!!!
