Romper Room

Social media is ablaze with discussions about a group of designers who want to manufacture and market rompers for men (RompHim).  Yes, this idea has met with much derision from men and women across social media, but apparently SOMEBODY wants to see men wearing these outfits because the designers have raised damn near $365,000 via crowdfunding.

What are rompers, you ask?

Well, to me, they look like upscale pajamas!  But they're a one-piece (top and bottom) garment.  Women have been wearing them for ages, so, now, the creators of Romp Him think it's only fair that men get a crack at 'em, too.

I'm tellin' you, fellas who have similar builds to mine would look great in some of the styles.  I really like the outfit I posted at the beginning of this blog post.  I have no doubt I could rock that with confidence!

I've gotta admit, though, I'm truly shocked that the designers have managed to generate enough interest to raise more than a quarter of a million dollars.  And in less than a month!  That's wild to me!!!!

Geez, I could use $365K right about now!

With that kind of money, I'd HAPPILY wear a romper 24/7!

Hanging Around

On a daily basis, I make sure I get myself to an outdoor "gym" to do some pull-ups, leg raises, dips, etc.

Today was a little chilly, but I was out there anyway.

And as you can see, I had the joint to myself!

Who needs a freakin' gym membership.

Not I!

Give me the outdoors...

Or...

Give me the outdoors! :)

The Right Path

I'm an optimist from way back.

So, I truly believe I'm on the right path these days.

Before too long, I suspect this ol' boy is gonna enjoy some incredible blessings!

Professional.

And.

Personal!

Universe, bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodnight, Moon

I was in Griffith Park at sundown and this is what I saw.

No, it's not the moon!

It's the SUN!

And I loved it!

I'm Not Gonna Miss My Shot?

Well, Broadway smash, HAMILTON, is rolling into Los Angeles in August!

And boy, oh boy, are producers of the dang show expecting Angelenos to PAY for the privilege!!!!

Honestly, I took one look at the ticket prices and just shook my head.

Yes, I intend to see the show one day.

But until that day comes, I think I'll simply enjoy viewing a bootleg version of a Broadway performance with the original cast.

Sometimes, a brotha has to do what a brotha has to do! ;)

Curb Appeal

The mother of actor DENZEL WELLS (America's Next Top Model, If Loving You Is Wrong) sure knows how to make her front yard pop!

The woman truly has one helluva green thumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She apparently lives by the ancient "Chinese" secret:

"Curb appeal is half the meal."

Lately...

Lake Balboa and Woodley Park are my new, favorite getaways.  Honestly, both places are fascinating.

Lately I've been really taking in the surroundings at both parks.  Just really being observant in ways I've never been.

At Lake Balboa, I walk around the lake and really scrutinize the wildlife and their antics.  I watch the fishermen casting their poles.  And love seeing the elderly laugh and talk with each other.

There are signs posted all around the lake, telling visitors not to feed the wildlife; but every time I'm there, what do I see?  Visitors feeding the wildlife.  I tell ya, people just don't think rules apply to them.

Over at Woodley Park, I like to just sit on the vast Cricket field and look up at the sky and wherever else my eyes wander.

I find that I always wound up engaging in conversations with people at Woodley, too.  Just the other day I met a young man named Raul, who was at the park keeping the place clean.  No, not because he's a tree-hugger, but because he was fulfilling a community service obligation.  The young fella had gotten himself a DUI citation, and keeping this beautiful park clean is part of his punishment.  Well, I asked him if he learned his lesson about drinking and driving, and he said he had.  He got off lucky, because instead of arresting him, the police simply impounded his vehicle.

During my chat with Raul, we discussed his late mother, and that subject seemed to move him in ways I hadn't expected.  At one point, he literally dropped to his knees and wept.  So, what did I do?  I lifted him from the ground and hugged him.  Yep!  Hugged him.  With a big ol' tight bear hug.  He said he couldn't believe he cried in front of a stranger.  And I told him I'm no stranger.  We're all brothers and sisters in this world.  The kid is 23, soon to be 24.  I hope maturity embraces him and he grows on to live a life that would make himself and his mother proud.

Well, I've gotta go.  I'm heading out to a park! :)
