His Greatness

Today was my first day at my one-week gig for the Chevron World Challenge Golf Tournament.  No, it doesn't appear that "The One" will be in attendance.  But, u know what?  Like my mama used to always say:  "One monkey don't stop the show!"  What I most want to convey is that my new coworkers are BEYOND PHENOMENAL!  I mean, I have never worked with a kinder group of people!  And, the ALL-STAR is named, DANIEL WEBER.  I mean, truly, this dude is THE EMPLOYEE OF A LIFETIME!  No joke, simply working beside him makes the gig worth the 40-minute drive to Thousand Oaks!  I look forward to working with him & the others tomorrow...and the day after that, and the day after that, and...

Glorious New Day!

This Wasn't It

Awakened this morning and just knew I'd catch a matinee showing of the Michael Jackson concert rehearsal film.  Well, I had forgotten the film only ran 'til Thanksgiving.  Looks like I'll have to wait 'til "This Is It" becomes "This Is DVD."

Spend City

My friend, Tyshawn, is in Vegas this weekend.  On someone else's dime!  The best way to be there!  He just texted me, tellin' me that his hotel room is unbelievable.  Well, believe it, T.Y.  And believe that you one day will be able to afford such a room on your own dime!  And, even if you can't actually pay for the room, all you gotta do is lose enough money to a casino to have your room comped like the one you're in now!!!

I Mean, Seriously!

It used to be that any number of "serious" actors wouldn't do commercials in the USA for fear of being viewed as "commercial" actors and not considered talented enough to star in tv and film.  Well, here it is 2009 and I can think of several "commercial" actors who are probably not stressed about where their next paycheck is comin' from; which most assuredly can't be said of, 99.9 & 3/4% of the, "Mr. & Miss Serious Actors!"

I Need A Hero?

I'm always amazed that people still consider famous athletes role models for their children.  I mean, if you take away their athletic talent and their team of p.r. pros'  handiwork, what do you truly know about them?  I'm sure when the dust settles on Tiger's recent car accident, it'll be revealed that he is a mere mortal with a mere mortal's problems.  No superhero there!  No superhero anywhere!  And that's just the way it is.

Highway Robbery

Back in 2001 or 2002, Enterprise Car Rental charged $9.99 per day for their three-day, weekend special of a Ford Focus.  At the time, I owned a 17-yr-old mustang which wasn't running the best, so driving a new Ford Focus at that rental rate was great!  In 2004, I purchased a preowned, 2003 Hyundai Elantra, so I didn't have a need to rent anymore.  Now that that car is gone, I've gone back to, Enterprise.  Since April of this year, though, I've noticed that their weekend special for cars much smaller than a Focus has gone from $13.99 per day to $17.49.  Today, in fact, they're charging $24.99 per day (they say, because of the holiday).  Uhh...the holiday was yesterday!!  Whatever!  All I know is the car rental biz is one helluva racket!!!

My most favorite movie of ALL-TIME!!!!  I laugh out loud EVERY, SINGLE time I watch it!!!!!!  And I also marvel at the depth some friendships can enjoy when people allow themselves to be loving, giving, vulnerable and forgiving.  If I want those kinds of friendships, I have to offer such!  And that's just the way it is.

Can't Buy Me Love

Walked away from my Thanksgiving Day gig with a few more dollars in my pocket than I had before I went to the gig.  Instead, though, I wish I had eaten dinner with my FAMILY and/or FRIENDS for NO MONEY!  They make me feel a whole heck of a lot more special than any dollar bill ever has.  EVER!

Considering all that I've experienced firsthand in this crazy business called, Show, I can confidently bet an arm, leg, ear, eye and kidney that the first, two, young actors don't get nearly the auditions or random, on-the-street offerings of representation from "managers" as the third, young actor.  And, no, I don't wonder why.  And I'm sure you don't, either.  Sing it, Bruce Hornsby:
