Why, you ask?

CORONAVIRUS Disease (COVID-19)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Per the
World Health Organization:
"Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans. Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans.
Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing."
Two months ago, this was a disease I had never heard of! Heck, I suppose most folks hadn't. Then, all of a sudden, it was EVERYWHERE!
As it stands, the countries hit hardest by this recent outbreak are: China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany, France, USA, Switzerland, Norway and Japan!
Here in the states, damn near every event and/or organization that draws a crowd (i.e. athletic events, schools, theatrical productions, conventions, etc.) has been cancelled or postponed 'til further notice.
Actors, service industry workers, convention presenters, behind-the-scenes showbiz folks, and a host of others are undoubtedly gonna feel a significant pinch by the cancellation of gigs. Small businesses, in particular, will suffer if their doors are closed for too long.
I'm simply gonna do what I always do: keep my head up, do what I can to stay afloat happily, and hope and pray for better days! SOON!
As a people, we WILL get through this!
